Description

Celebrate with this colorful, refreshing American Flag Fruit Pizza! A crisp, buttery sugar cookie crust topped with creamy sweetened cream cheese and adorned with fresh berries arranged to resemble the stars and stripes. It’s a perfect, crowd-pleasing dessert that’s as fun to make as it is to eat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the crust:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

For the topping:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries (optional, for extra “stars”)

Instructions

  • Make the crust:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture until combined.

  • Form the pizza base:
Press dough evenly onto a large round pizza pan or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely.

  • Prepare the cream cheese topping:
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Spread evenly over the cooled crust.

  • Decorate the flag:
Arrange blueberries in the top-left corner for the “stars” section. Use rows of sliced strawberries and raspberries to create the “stripes,” alternating red and white stripes (the white is the cream cheese). Optionally, add blackberries for extra stars.

  • Chill and serve:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh, ripe berries for the best flavor and vibrant colors.

You can substitute Greek yogurt or whipped cream for a lighter topping.

For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free sugar cookie crust.

Keep refrigerated until serving for best texture.
