  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Angel Chicken Rice is a comforting and rich dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy, flavorful sauce. This dish is quick to make and pairs perfectly with a bed of warm, cooked rice for a satisfying meal. The combination of golden mushroom soup, cream cheese with chives, and Italian seasoning makes it a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 package dry Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 can condensed golden mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 4 ounces cream cheese with chives
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and brown the chicken breasts on both sides.
  • Once browned, place the chicken in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In the same skillet, combine the dry Italian dressing mix, condensed golden mushroom soup, white wine, and cream cheese. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken breasts in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  • Serve the chicken and creamy sauce over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can use chicken broth in place of white wine or add a splash of lemon juice.
  • You can substitute regular cream cheese for the cream cheese with chives, though using the chive variety adds a wonderful flavor.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can reduce the sauce slightly before pouring it over the chicken.
