The Bacon-Loaded Hot Dog with Fries is the ultimate comfort food combination. Featuring a juicy grilled hot dog, crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and melted cheddar cheese, all nestled in a soft bun, this dish is a hearty, indulgent treat. Paired with crispy French fries and your favorite condiments, it’s the perfect meal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fries
  • Ketchup and mustard, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, cook the sliced onion over medium heat until caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  • While the onion is cooking, grill the hot dogs until heated through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Place the hot dog buns on a baking sheet. Fill each bun with a hot dog, crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • While the hot dogs are baking, cook the French fries according to package instructions.
  • Serve the bacon-loaded hot dogs with the French fries, and add ketchup and mustard as desired.

Notes

  • You can use any type of hot dog (beef, chicken, turkey, or plant-based) depending on your preference.
  • If you like a bit of heat, add some jalapeños or hot sauce on top of the cheese before baking.
  • For a healthier twist, try using turkey bacon or skipping the cheese.
