Description

A hearty and delicious sandwich featuring homemade meatballs smothered in marinara sauce, topped with melted mozzarella, and served on soft hoagie rolls. Perfect for a comforting meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Form mixture into meatballs and place on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  4. In a saucepan, heat marinara sauce over medium heat. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat.
  5. Slice hoagie rolls in half and place meatballs on the bottom half of each roll. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Place sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a bit more flavor, try adding Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
  • You can prepare the meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake.
  • To keep the sandwiches from getting soggy, toast the hoagie rolls slightly before adding the meatballs.
