Description

Brownie Petit Fours are rich, fudgy, bite-sized treats that combine the decadence of brownies with the elegance of classic petit fours. Glazed with chocolate ganache or icing and topped with decorative touches, they’re perfect for weddings, parties, or holiday dessert tables.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownies:

  • 1 batch of brownie batter (homemade or boxed)

  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

For Chocolate Ganache (Option 1):

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup heavy cream

For Powdered Sugar Glaze (Option 2):

  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

  • 23 tbsp milk or water

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Toppings (Optional):

  • Sprinkles

  • Chopped nuts

  • Edible glitter

  • Sea salt

  • Gold leaf

Instructions

  1. Bake the Brownies:
Preheat oven and prepare brownie batter as directed. Pour into a parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan and bake until set. Let cool completely.

  2. Chill and Cut:
Chill brownies in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Use a sharp knife or small cookie cutter to cut into 1–1.5-inch squares or shapes.

  3. Make the Ganache or Glaze:

    • Ganache: Heat heavy cream until steaming. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.

    • Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth and pourable.

  4. Glaze the Petit Fours:
Place brownie pieces on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Spoon or pour glaze over each piece, allowing excess to drip off.

  5. Decorate:
While glaze is wet, top with desired decorations.

  6. Set and Serve:
Let glaze set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Serve on a platter or in mini cupcake liners.

Notes

Chill brownies before cutting to reduce crumbs and get cleaner edges.

Use freshly made ganache while warm for smoothest coating.

For layered petit fours, sandwich two brownie pieces with jam or caramel before glazing.

Mini muffin pans can help shape and portion brownies evenly.
