- 1/4 cup milk

Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in brown sugar and milk, and bring to a boil.
- Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Gradually beat in powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the frosting over cooled cake or cupcakes.
Notes
- Make sure the cake or cupcakes are completely cooled before applying the frosting to prevent it from melting.
- If the frosting is too thick, add a splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
- For a salted caramel flavor, add a pinch of sea salt while beating in the powdered sugar.
