  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These crispy, golden cauliflower Parmesan steaks are a delicious vegetarian option that’s both satisfying and flavorful. Coated in a Parmesan and breadcrumb crust, then fried and baked to perfection, they make a great side dish or main course for anyone looking to enjoy a healthier, plant-based meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Cut the cauliflower into thick slices to create “steaks.”
  • In a shallow dish, mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • In a separate dish, beat the eggs.
  • Dip each cauliflower steak into the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry each cauliflower steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  • Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until tender.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a lighter version, you can skip the frying step and bake the cauliflower steaks directly in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 25-30 minutes.
  • You can garnish the cauliflower steaks with fresh herbs or serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
