Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cedar plank
  • 1 1/2 pounds salmon fillet
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 2 hours before grilling.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, vegetable oil, ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the salmon fillet on the soaked cedar plank and brush generously with the soy sauce mixture.
  5. Place the cedar plank on the preheated grill and close the lid.
  6. Grill for about 20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove from the grill and serve hot.

Notes

  • Soaking the Cedar Plank: Make sure to soak the cedar plank for at least 2 hours (or overnight if possible) to prevent it from catching fire on the grill.
  • Grill Lid: Keep the lid closed to trap the smoky flavor from the cedar plank and ensure even cooking.
  • Serving Tip: Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
