  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 28 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 pockets (depending on size) 1x

Description

These Cheese-Stuffed Pepperoni Pockets are the perfect handheld pizza alternative! With gooey melted cheese and savory pepperoni wrapped in soft, golden dough, these pockets are a pizza lover’s dream come true. Whether for lunch, dinner, or a snack, these pockets are easy to make and packed with flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade pizza dough)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2025 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the dough:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle or circle (depending on the shape you prefer for your pockets).
  • Add the filling:
Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over half of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Top with a layer of pepperoni slices and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese. Optionally, add oregano and garlic powder for extra flavor.
  • Seal the pockets:
Fold the dough over the filling, creating a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for an extra touch. Make a small slit on top of each pocket to allow steam to escape while baking.
  • Apply egg wash:
Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each stuffed pocket to give it a golden, crispy finish as it bakes.
  • Bake the pockets:
Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve:
Let the pepperoni pockets cool slightly before serving with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can swap out the pepperoni for other pizza toppings like sausage, mushrooms, or vegetables.
  • For a spicier version, add some red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
  • Make sure to seal the pockets well to avoid the cheese from leaking out during baking.
