These indulgent Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bars combine a buttery, sweet base with a decadent layer of chocolate chips, caramel sauce, and a crunchy pretzel topping. The perfect balance of salty and sweet in every bite!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup pretzels, crushed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Mix in flour until well combined.
  • Press mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked crust.
  • Pour caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
  • Sprinkle crushed pretzels on top.
  • Return to oven for 10 minutes, or until caramel is bubbly.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, use mini pretzels or larger pretzel pieces.
  • If you like your caramel more gooey, reduce the baking time after adding the pretzels and caramel sauce.
  • These bars are best when completely cooled and set, so be patient before cutting.
