Ingredients
For the Brownies:
-
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
-
2 cups granulated sugar
-
4 large eggs
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Topping:
-
1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
-
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
-
Prepare the Brownie Batter:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or cooking spray.
-
In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
-
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
-
-
Bake the Brownies:
-
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
-
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before adding the topping.
-
-
Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
-
While the brownies cool, prepare the chocolate topping. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer (not boil).
-
Remove the cream from the heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
-
-
Assemble the Brownies:
-
Once the brownies are cooled, pour the chocolate ganache over the top and spread it evenly with a spatula.
-
Arrange the halved strawberries on top of the ganache, pressing them gently into the chocolate.
-
-
Serve:
-
Allow the ganache to set at room temperature for 15-20 minutes, or refrigerate for quicker setting. Slice and serve.
-
Notes
-
For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
-
You can also drizzle additional melted chocolate over the top for an extra touch of chocolate.
-
These brownies are best enjoyed the day they’re made, but they will stay fresh for up to 3 days when stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
