- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3 eggs
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until well combined.
- Press the cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish to form the base layer.
- In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well mixed.
- Stir in the chopped pecans and powdered sugar.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate cake base and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Notes
- For a more intense pecan flavor, you can toast the pecans lightly before adding them to the cream cheese mixture.
- If you prefer a sweeter topping, sprinkle additional powdered sugar on top before serving.
