Description

A rich, fudgy brownie that’s perfect for the holiday season. With a classic cocoa flavor and a hint of vanilla, this simple recipe makes for a delightful treat to share with family and friends at any holiday gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Check with a toothpick—do not overcook. The center should be slightly moist but set.
  • Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can add a festive twist by sprinkling powdered sugar or topping with chocolate chips or holiday-colored sprinkles after baking.
  • For an extra decadent treat, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
