  • Yield: 24 servings (depending on the size of the balls) 1x

Description

These Christmas Peanut Butter Balls are a delicious combination of creamy peanut butter, buttery goodness, and crunchy rice cereal, all coated in a smooth layer of melted chocolate. A festive treat that’s perfect for holiday gift-giving or just indulging during the season!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, and crispy rice cereal until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening together in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
  • Dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely.
  • Return the coated balls to the wax paper-lined baking sheet to set.
  • Allow the chocolate to harden before serving. (Refrigerating for 30 minutes helps the chocolate set faster.)

Notes

  • You can refrigerate the peanut butter balls for faster chocolate setting and longer freshness.
  • For a variation, you can drizzle extra melted chocolate over the top for a decorative effect.
