Description

These homemade cinnamon roll doughnuts combine the sweet, spiced flavor of cinnamon rolls with the crispy texture of doughnuts. Topped with a cinnamon glaze, they make a perfect breakfast treat or dessert for any time of the day.

For the Doughnuts:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

For the Cinnamon Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each well about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the doughnuts comes out clean.
  • While the doughnuts bake, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Once the doughnuts are done, allow them to cool for a few minutes before dipping them into the cinnamon glaze.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don’t have a doughnut pan, you can bake the batter in a muffin tin for a similar result.
  • Adjust the glaze consistency by adding more milk for a thinner glaze, or more powdered sugar for a thicker one.
