Description
These chewy, colorful cookie bars are a nostalgic treat that combines the classic taste of M&M’s with the convenience of a bar format. Perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a sweet snack anytime!
Ingredients
-
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon baking soda
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
-
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
1 cup M&M’s candies
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
-
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
-
Fold in the M&M’s candies, reserving a few to sprinkle on top before baking.
-
Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and press the reserved M&M’s on top.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Allow the bars to cool in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
For a festive touch, use seasonal M&M’s (like red and green for Christmas or pastels for Easter).
Add-ins like chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or a swirl of peanut butter can be mixed into the dough for extra flavor.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
To freeze, wrap individual bars tightly in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag. They can be frozen for up to 3 months.
