Description

This Crab Casserole is a creamy, cheesy, and comforting dish that’s perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy meal at home. With tender crab meat, a rich base, and a golden, crunchy topping, it’s a seafood lover’s dream come true.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lump crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • 2 green onions or chives, chopped

  • ½ cup celery, finely chopped (optional)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning or paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • ½ cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium-sized baking dish.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

  • Gently fold in the crab meat, green onions, celery (if using), and half of the shredded cheese.

  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  • Top with the remaining cheese and a mixture of bread crumbs tossed with melted butter.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.

  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use lump crab meat for the best texture; however, claw or imitation crab can be used in a pinch.

Avoid overmixing to keep the crab meat in chunks.

For extra browning, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving for better consistency.
