8 oz cream cheese, softened
-
½ cup mayonnaise
-
½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
-
1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
-
2 green onions or chives, chopped
-
½ cup celery, finely chopped (optional)
-
1 tbsp lemon juice
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning or paprika
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
½ cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers
-
2 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium-sized baking dish.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
-
Gently fold in the crab meat, green onions, celery (if using), and half of the shredded cheese.
-
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
-
Top with the remaining cheese and a mixture of bread crumbs tossed with melted butter.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
-
Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use lump crab meat for the best texture; however, claw or imitation crab can be used in a pinch.
Avoid overmixing to keep the crab meat in chunks.
For extra browning, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving for better consistency.
