Description

This Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta is bold, rich, and indulgently satisfying. Tender shrimp seasoned with Cajun spices are tossed with gluten-free spaghetti and enveloped in a velvety garlic-tomato cream sauce. Finished with a generous mix of parmesan and mozzarella, it’s the perfect fusion of spice, creaminess, and comfort—all in one delicious dish.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp & Pasta:

  • 12 oz large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 12 oz gluten-free spaghetti

  • ¾ tsp dried oregano

  • ¼ tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning

  • ¼ tsp dried parsley

  • 1 tsp sweet smoked paprika (OliveNation)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder (OliveNation)

  • ¾ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp dry shallots (heaping)

For the Sauce:

  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¾ cup tomato sauce

  • 1 pint heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp garlic-infused olive oil (Costabile)

  • 3 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook gluten-free spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Season Shrimp:
In a bowl, toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, parsley, salt, and dry shallots. Set aside.

  • Sauté Shrimp:
In a large skillet, heat garlic olive oil over medium heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  • Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in tomato sauce and heavy cream, and simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  • Add Cheeses:
Lower the heat and add parmesan and mozzarella. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

  • Combine:
Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce, tossing everything together until well-coated. Simmer for 1–2 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Notes

Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste if you prefer less or more heat.

This dish is rich—use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.

Best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
