- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, cocoa, and salt; gradually mix into the creamed mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Be careful not to over-bake these cookies. They should be slightly soft in the center when you take them out.
- For extra fudgy centers, slightly underbake the cookies by 1-2 minutes.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to a week.
