These Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are a sweet and playful twist on the classic favorite. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, or any time you want to make a batch of love-filled treats, these cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with gooey chocolate chips. The heart shape adds a special touch that makes them even more irresistible!

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Red or pink sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and smooth (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, and beat until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
  • Place the heart-shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. If desired, sprinkle the tops with red or pink sprinkles for a festive touch.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can use any type of chocolate chips or even mix in some white chocolate chips for extra flavor.
  • If you don’t have a heart-shaped cookie cutter, you can use any shape you like!
  • For a fun twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies once they’re cool.
