-
1 (15 oz) can black beans or pinto beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup beef broth or water

2 tbsp chili powder
-
1 tsp ground cumin
-
1 tsp paprika
-
½ tsp dried oregano
-
1 tsp salt
-

-
Sauté Vegetables: Add chopped onions, garlic, and bell peppers. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
-
Tomato Base: Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes.
-
Combine Ingredients: Add diced tomatoes, beans, broth (or water), and spices. Stir to mix well.
-
Simmer: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Adjust & Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
For smoky depth, use fire-roasted tomatoes or smoked paprika.
Add a square of dark chocolate or a dash of cinnamon for a flavor twist.
Double the recipe for meal prep or parties—it freezes well.
For vegetarian version, skip the meat and add more beans or lentils.
Simmer longer for a thicker texture; add broth for thinner consistency.
