The combination of honey, garlic, and soy sauce creates a rich, sticky glaze that’s perfect for dipping and enjoying with friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep the Wings:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using frozen wings, make sure they are fully thawed. Pat the wings dry with paper towels to help them crisp up during baking.

  • Season the Wings:
Place the wings in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.

  • Bake the Wings:
Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.

  • Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
While the wings are baking, make the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 4-5 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken. If you’d like the sauce to be thicker, whisk in the cornstarch slurry and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.

  • Toss the Wings in Sauce:
Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven. Transfer the wings to a large bowl and pour the honey garlic sauce over the wings. Toss well to ensure that each wing is coated with the sticky sauce.

  • Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh parsley if desired. Serve the wings with extra sauce for dipping and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking.
  • If you prefer your wings a little spicier, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey garlic sauce or use a spicy honey.

  • You can also cook these wings in an air fryer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.
