Ingredients

Scale

For the Cheeseburgers:

  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional for added flavor)
  • 1215 mini tater tots (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (cut into halves or quarters to fit mini burgers)

For the Toppings:

  • Mini pickles or dill pickle chips
  • Ketchup and mustard (or your favorite condiments)
  • Lettuce (optional)
  • Sliced tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Tater Tots: Preheat your oven according to the package directions for the tater tots (usually 425°F or 220°C). Bake the tater tots on a baking sheet until golden and crispy, usually 20-25 minutes. Halfway through baking, give them a shake to ensure they cook evenly.

  • Make the Mini Burger Patties: While the tater tots are baking, form the ground beef into mini burger patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Season both sides of the patties with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. If using Worcestershire sauce, mix it into the beef before forming the patties.

  • Cook the Mini Burgers: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the mini patties for 2-3 minutes per side or until browned and cooked through. During the last minute of cooking, place a piece of cheese on each patty to melt.

  • Assemble the Mini Tater Tot Cheeseburgers: Once the tater tots and mini burger patties are done, it’s time to assemble. Take a baked tater tot, top it with a mini burger patty, and add any desired toppings like pickles, lettuce, and tomato.

  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve your mini tater tot cheeseburgers warm with condiments like ketchup, mustard, or any of your favorites. These mini burgers are perfect for dipping and snacking!

Notes

  • If you want to add a twist, you can use different cheeses such as American, Swiss, or pepper jack.
  • You can customize the toppings to fit your preferences — try adding bacon bits, sautéed onions, or even a small drizzle of barbecue sauce.
  • These are great as appetizers for a party, or you can serve them as a fun main dish for family meals.
