  • Author: Sarah

Description

This Oreo Dump Cake is a simple, decadent dessert that combines the classic flavors of Oreos, chocolate cake, and whipped topping. With just a few ingredients, it’s a perfect dessert for a quick treat when you’re short on time but craving something indulgent!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 25 Oreo cookies

  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

  • 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip), not frozen

  • 15¼ oz chocolate cake mix

  • ½ cup sweet salted butter (sliced)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

  • Layer the Oreos:

    • Spread the Oreo cookies evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. You can break the cookies into smaller pieces, but keep some larger pieces for extra texture.

  • Add the Sweetened Condensed Milk:

    • Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the Oreos, spreading it evenly to cover the cookies.

  • Top with Cake Mix:

    • Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the condensed milk layer. Do not stir or mix; just sprinkle it on top.

  • Add the Butter:

    • Dot the top of the cake mix with sliced pieces of butter. The butter will melt while baking, creating a moist, delicious topping.

  • Bake:

    • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly around the edges.

  • Add the Whipped Topping:

    • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

    • Spread the whipped topping (Cool Whip) over the top of the cake before serving. You can also refrigerate it for a chilled treat!

  • Serve:

    • Serve warm or cold, depending on your preference. Enjoy the Oreo goodness!

Notes

  • If you prefer a richer topping, you can add a layer of crushed Oreos on top of the cake after adding the whipped topping.

  • Feel free to experiment with different flavored cake mixes, such as vanilla or red velvet, to change up the flavor profile.
