  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings (approximately 8 rolls, depending on the size of feta strips) 1x

Description

These crispy oven-fried feta rolls are coated in breadcrumbs and lightly fried to perfection, then baked for a melty, golden finish. Drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili honey, this appetizer will be a hit at any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block of feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut the feta cheese into long strips.
  • Dredge each strip in flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, then coat it with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the feta strips until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Place the fried feta strips on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  • While the feta bakes, heat the honey and chili flakes in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until the honey is warmed and combined with the chili flakes.
  • Drizzle the chili honey over the oven-fried feta rolls before serving.

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of heat in the chili honey by adding more or less chili flakes depending on your taste preference.
  • If you prefer a crispier texture, you can skip the oven step and fry the feta rolls a bit longer in the pan.
  • Serve these rolls as an appetizer or snack at your next party or gathering.
