Description
Pan Fried Cinnamon Bananas are a simple, sweet treat that’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack. The bananas are cooked to golden perfection with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar, creating a warm, caramelized exterior that’s deliciously sweet and aromatic.
Ingredients
-
2 ripe bananas, sliced into rounds
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter
-
2 tbsp brown sugar (light or dark)
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
-
Pinch of salt
-
Whipped cream or ice cream (optional, for serving)
-
Chopped nuts (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Prepare the bananas: Slice the bananas into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
-
Heat the pan: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar begins to dissolve and the mixture becomes syrupy.
-
Cook the bananas: Add the banana slices to the skillet and gently toss to coat them with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the bananas are golden brown and caramelized. Be careful not to overcook the bananas so they don’t become mushy.
-
Finish and serve: Remove from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract (if using). Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired. Top with chopped nuts for added crunch, if preferred.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg along with the cinnamon.
These bananas are delicious served over pancakes, waffles, or yogurt as well.
Adjust the sweetness to your taste by adding more or less sugar.
