These adorable Red Velvet Hot Cocoa Bombs are the perfect treat for cozy winter nights! A beautiful blend of red candy melts, white sprinkles, and rich cocoa mix, they make an excellent gift or a fun way to elevate your hot cocoa experience. Simply drop them in a mug, pour hot milk over, and watch the magic happen!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup red candy melts
  • 1 cup white candy melts
  • 2 cups hot cocoa mix
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • Red food coloring
  • White sprinkles

Instructions

  • Melt the Candy Melts: Melt the red and white candy melts in separate bowls according to the package instructions.
  • Add Food Coloring: Add a few drops of red food coloring to the red candy melts and stir until well combined.
  • Coat the Molds: Spoon the red candy melts into half-sphere molds, spreading them evenly to coat the sides.
  • Chill: Place the molds in the fridge for 5 minutes to allow the red candy to set.
  • Remove from Molds: Carefully remove the red candy shells from the molds once set.
  • Fill the Bombs: Fill half of the red candy shells with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows.
  • Seal the Bombs: Heat a plate in the microwave for 1 minute. Gently press the edges of an empty red shell onto the hot plate to melt the edges slightly. Then, place the melted edge on top of a filled shell to seal it.
  • Decorate: Drizzle the white candy melts over the sealed cocoa bomb and sprinkle with white sprinkles for a festive touch.
  • Serve: Place the hot cocoa bomb in a mug, then pour hot milk over it to watch the cocoa bomb melt and mix.

Notes

  • Make sure to chill the candy shells properly before filling to ensure they hold their shape.
  • You can use any type of hot cocoa mix you prefer (or even homemade cocoa mix).
  • If you prefer, you can substitute mini marshmallows with chocolate chips for added richness.
