Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup red candy melts
- 1 cup white candy melts
- 2 cups hot cocoa mix
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- Red food coloring
- White sprinkles
Instructions
- Melt the Candy Melts: Melt the red and white candy melts in separate bowls according to the package instructions.
- Add Food Coloring: Add a few drops of red food coloring to the red candy melts and stir until well combined.
- Coat the Molds: Spoon the red candy melts into half-sphere molds, spreading them evenly to coat the sides.
- Chill: Place the molds in the fridge for 5 minutes to allow the red candy to set.
- Remove from Molds: Carefully remove the red candy shells from the molds once set.
- Fill the Bombs: Fill half of the red candy shells with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows.
- Seal the Bombs: Heat a plate in the microwave for 1 minute. Gently press the edges of an empty red shell onto the hot plate to melt the edges slightly. Then, place the melted edge on top of a filled shell to seal it.
- Decorate: Drizzle the white candy melts over the sealed cocoa bomb and sprinkle with white sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Serve: Place the hot cocoa bomb in a mug, then pour hot milk over it to watch the cocoa bomb melt and mix.
Notes
- Make sure to chill the candy shells properly before filling to ensure they hold their shape.
- You can use any type of hot cocoa mix you prefer (or even homemade cocoa mix).
- If you prefer, you can substitute mini marshmallows with chocolate chips for added richness.
