  • Author: Sarah

  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Stovetop Creamy Ground Beef Pasta is a quick and comforting one-pot dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Made with tender pasta, seasoned ground beef, rich cream, and a hint of Parmesan, it delivers all the flavor of a baked pasta dish without the oven. It’s cheesy, hearty, and ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni)

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  • Add Aromatics and Seasonings:
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  • Simmer with Broth and Tomatoes:
Pour in beef broth and add the drained diced tomatoes. Stir well and let simmer for 3–4 minutes.

  • Add the Pasta:
Stir in uncooked pasta, ensuring it is mostly submerged in the liquid. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a splash more broth or water if the mixture becomes too dry before the pasta is cooked.

  • Make It Creamy:
Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Let simmer uncovered for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the pasta.

  • Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan, and serve warm.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.

For extra veggies, stir in spinach or peas before adding the cream.

Can be made dairy-free by omitting cheese and cream and replacing with plant-based alternatives.

Use whole wheat pasta for added fiber.
