Description

This Strawberry Pretzel Salad is the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and creamy. With a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy cream cheese filling, and a fruity strawberry gelatin topping, it’s an irresistible dessert or side dish that’s perfect for any occasion. It’s quick to prepare, easy to make, and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping
  • 6 oz strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 20 oz frozen strawberries

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Prepare Pretzel Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan.
  • Bake Crust: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and let it cool completely.
  • Cream Cheese Layer: In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with 1 cup sugar until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  • Prepare Gelatin: In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir in the frozen strawberries (do not thaw them). Let the mixture set briefly.
  • Assemble: Pour the strawberry gelatin mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  • Refrigerate: Place the dish in the refrigerator and allow it to chill until the gelatin is fully set, about 2-3 hours.

Notes

  • For a firmer crust, bake a few extra minutes, but be careful not to burn the pretzels.
  • You can use fresh strawberries if you prefer, but frozen strawberries give the salad a great texture.
  • Feel free to substitute the whipped topping with real whipped cream for a richer taste.
