  • 12 oz jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For the Sauce:

  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano

Optional Toppings:

  • Additional Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  • Cook the Shells:
    Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

  • Prepare the Filling:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  • Prepare the Sauce:
    In a medium saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Stir in the dried basil and oregano. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.

  • Stuff the Shells:
    Carefully stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta filling and arrange them in a baking dish.

  • Assemble the Dish:
    Pour the marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of mozzarella cheese on top.

  • Bake:
    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Serve:
