Description
These sautéed mushrooms are an easy and delicious side dish, bursting with flavor from garlic, herbs, and a touch of Worcestershire sauce. The perfect accompaniment to any meal!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
- 1 pound mushrooms (sliced; cremini, button, or a mix)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 3 tablespoons white wine (or broth)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Cook Mushrooms: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften (about 5 minutes).
- Add Aromatics: Reduce the heat to medium, then stir in the minced garlic, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant.
- Deglaze: Add the white wine (or broth) and cook until the mushrooms are tender and the liquid has mostly evaporated (about 3-5 minutes). Stir in Worcestershire sauce and mix well.
- Finish: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Stir until the butter is melted and the mushrooms become glossy. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Mushrooms: You can use cremini, button, or a mix of both for different flavor profiles.
- Oil & Butter: Using both oil (for high heat) and butter (for flavor) is crucial.
- White Wine: A dry white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio works best. You can substitute it with broth if preferred.
- Worcestershire Sauce: For a vegetarian version, swap Worcestershire sauce with soy sauce.
