  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 40 minutes (plus soaking time)
  • Yield: 20 strawberries 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Indulge in these decadent Drunken Chocolate Covered Strawberries. These sweet, juicy berries are infused with your choice of alcohol, then coated in rich semisweet, milk, and white chocolate. Perfect for a special occasion or as a luxurious treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups dry alcohol of choice (vodka, champagne, Prosecco, sparkling white wine)
  • 5 ounces semisweet chocolate, broken into smaller blocks or chopped
  • 5 ounces milk chocolate, broken into smaller blocks or chopped
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 2 pounds strawberries with stems (about 20 strawberries)
  • 2 ounces white chocolate for decoration

Instructions

  • Infuse the Strawberries: Begin by soaking the strawberries in the alcohol of your choice. Place them in a bowl and pour over the alcohol. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 2 hours for a good balance of flavor.
  • Prepare the Chocolate Coating: While the strawberries are soaking, melt the semisweet and milk chocolate along with the coconut oil. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in short bursts, stirring in between, or use a double boiler.
  • Coat the Strawberries: Once the strawberries have soaked, gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Place the chocolate-covered strawberry on a parchment-lined tray.
  • Decorate with White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate in the same manner and drizzle over the dipped strawberries for decoration. Let the chocolate harden at room temperature or refrigerate briefly.
  • Serve: Once the chocolate has set, serve immediately, or store in the fridge until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • You can experiment with different types of alcohol like champagne or Prosecco for a more festive feel.
  • These are best enjoyed within 24 hours to keep the strawberries fresh.
