Description

This Snickerdoodle Cobbler combines the warm, comforting flavors of cinnamon and sugar with a soft, cake-like texture and a gooey, sweet sauce at the bottom. It’s the perfect dessert for cozy nights or when you’re craving something indulgent yet simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until smooth and fully combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and hot water. Carefully pour this mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
  • In a small bowl, mix the 1/4 cup of sugar with the 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and sprinkle this mixture over the top of the cobbler.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. The cobbler should have a cake-like texture on top with a gooey, syrupy layer underneath.

  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.

  • If you’d like, you can also add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the batter for added texture and flavor.
