Description

These Valentine’s Day Heart-Shaped Brownies are the perfect sweet treat for your loved one this Valentine’s Day! With a rich, fudgy texture and a heart-shaped twist, they’re the ideal combination of chocolatey indulgence and festive fun. Whether you’re celebrating with a romantic dinner, gifting a batch to a friend, or sharing with family, these brownies will make every moment a little sweeter!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (18.3 oz) brownie mix (or homemade brownie batter)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)
  • For the frosting (optional):
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 12 tablespoons milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • A pinch of pink or red sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Alternatively, if you’re using a heart-shaped pan, grease it lightly.
  • Prepare the Brownie Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Usually, this will require adding vegetable oil, water, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. If you want extra chocolatey brownies, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Bake the Brownies:
    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
    • Bake according to the instructions on the box (usually 20-25 minutes for an 8×8 pan). To check for doneness, insert a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs, it’s ready.
  • Cool the Brownies:
    • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, carefully remove them from the pan if using parchment paper. If you used a heart-shaped pan, let them cool inside it.
  • Shape the Brownies:
    • Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes from the brownies. You can also use a knife to cut heart shapes freehand if you don’t have a cookie cutter.
  • Prepare the Frosting (optional):
    • In a medium bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if you want a thinner consistency.
    • Spread a thin layer of frosting on top of each heart-shaped brownie.
  • Decorate:
    • Top each frosted brownie with pink or red sprinkles for an extra festive touch. You can also add small chocolate chips or mini candies for decoration if desired.
  • Serve:
    • Serve these heart-shaped brownies on a platter, and enjoy with your Valentine!

Notes

  • If you prefer a different flavor, you can use a red velvet brownie mix for a festive touch.
  • You can add chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans, to the brownie batter for extra texture and flavor.
  • These brownies can also be made ahead of time. Just store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
